Prof. Dr. Danièle Hervieu-Léger is Professor of Sociology at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. She has published a number of books on religion in modern times and currently studies the re-establishment of monasteries in the 19th and 20th century.  
Dr. Isabelle Jonveaux is sociologist and project director at the Institute of Religious Science at Graz University. She is currently working on Catholic monasticism in Europe and on other continents and has so far published two books on the subject.  
Prof. DDr. Pablo Argárate is head of the Institute of Ecumenical Theology, Eastern Orthodoxy and Patrology in Graz. Among others, he examines the historic development of monasticism and Eastern monastic traditions.  
Porf. Dr.Mark Sheridan is a Benedictine monk of Dormition Abbey in Jerusalem and professor emeritus in the Faculty of Theology of the Pontificio Ateneo S.Anselmo, where he served as dean of the Faculty of Theology. He continues his research in the areas of Coptology and ancient Christian literature.  
Dr. Stefania Palmisano is lecturer of the sociology of organization and of the sociology of religious organizations at the University of Turin (Italy). She published some articles about new monastic communities in Italy.  
Dr. Mirel Banica is sociologist of religion and researcher at the institute of religious history in Bucharest. He researches the Orthodox Church in modernity and has conducted several researches on Orthodox monasteries in Rumania and their activities.
